Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

John Peters Roofing wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, magnification or voice control. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

What we have done

• ◆Text and background colors meet WCAG AA contrast.
• ◆Every page can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to content” link.
• ◆Pages use proper headings, landmarks and lists, so screen readers can move around them.
• ◆Images have text descriptions. Images that only decorate are hidden from screen readers.
• ◆Every form field has a visible label, and errors are announced.
• ◆Animation and smooth scrolling switch off if your device is set to reduce motion.
• ◆Text can be enlarged to 200% without losing content, and pages work on phones in portrait and landscape.

How we test

Every release is checked with axe, an automated accessibility tester, against WCAG 2.2 A and AA, at desktop and phone widths. Automated tools find many problems but not all of them, so we also check pages by hand with a keyboard and a screen reader.

Known limitations

• ◆Some older blog articles use images with words in them. Each has a text description with the same words.
• ◆Links to Google reviews and our social media pages go to services we don't control.
